INCREDIBLE!!!

Although Liberty Racing did not produce the winner of today's 157th German Derby (Group 1), worth €650,000, at Hamburg-Horn, there was still every reason for the shareholders of our 2024 Platinum and Gold Syndicates to celebrate.

In what will surely be remembered as a historic Derby, CHIEFLAND, SALITOS and KAIROS finished second, third and fourth, giving Liberty Racing an extraordinary result on Germany's biggest racing stage.

For a brief moment, it even looked as though Liberty Racing might sweep the podium as our blue-and-gold brigade thundered down Hamburg's famous long home straight. But in a thrilling finish, Dardanos, trained by Andreas Wöhler, drew clear to defeat CHIEFLAND and Cieren Fallon by one length.

Just another length behind, SALITOS, ridden by Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, battled all the way to the line to secure third, narrowly ahead of KAIROS and Leon Wolff, who finished an excellent fourth.

On very soft ground, all four jockeys executed the race tactics to perfection.

From a wide draw, Cieren Fallon immediately sent CHIEFLAND into a prominent position, while Leon Wolff cleverly guided KAIROS from midfield towards the outside down the back straight. It proved to be an inspired move, allowing the pair to sweep into contention approaching the home turn, where all three Liberty colts produced tremendous efforts to reward their teams with an outstanding result.

What an extraordinary achievement for Liberty Racing—and especially for the 2024 Gold Syndicate, whose two representatives finished second and third in Germany's greatest Classic.

ABACUS, representing the 2024 Platinum Syndicate, was never entirely comfortable on the testing ground. The son of Teofilo, trained by Sarah Steinberg and ridden by René Piechulek, struggled to make up ground from the rear and eventually finished twelfth.

We are immensely proud and deeply grateful.

All four horses presented themselves magnificently throughout the day, taking everything in their stride. They remained calm, confident and completely relaxed during both the parade ring and the traditional pre-race parade—without breaking into a sweat despite the occasion.
