Three-year-old Camelot colt scores with great turn of foot in second career start for Liberty Racing 2023 Australia.
Liberty Racing 2023 Australia's AMICO traveled to Munich today to compete in the 2,000 metres MIG Fund Auftaktrennen, a supposedly easy task, with Leon Wolff in the saddle. But even "easy tasks" need to be solved first - and that is exactly what Henk Grewe 's protégé did with flying colors.
After a composed race from the front midfield, AMICO kicked away impressively as the distance increased and almost effortlessly broke clear by nearly a length in the final stretch. A very mature performance by the colt, who had to find a passage in the final battle and certainly needs longer distances.
The next logical step now probably leads to the traditional Gr. 2 Union-Rennen - the classic Derby Trial at Cologne where the colt could meet AQUAMAN, his stable and syndicate partner, in an exciting clash. Liberty Racing 2023 Australia would thus have two hot irons in the fire for the Gr.1 German Derby 2025.
