Liberty Racing 2026: Trainers and horse distributions settled for the coming season

Liberty Racing's co founder Nadine Siepmann announces distribution for 2025 syndicate horses and extension of two 2023 syndicates.

As co-founder Nadine Siepmann announced yesterday, Liberty Racing has set the course for the 2026 racing season. In addition to finalising the trainer allocations for the upcoming two-year-olds, plans for the older age groups have also been confirmed. All two-year-olds are currently still in pre-training at Ohlerweiherhof Stud and will move to their respective training quarters over the coming weeks.

Three horses from Liberty Racing 2025 Platin will remain in Cologne, while one will move to Bavaria.
Peter Schiergen will train the Gleneagles colt Phenomenon (pictured). Helios (Sea The Moon) and Zauberlehrling (Australia) will join Henk Grewe, while Quintus (New Bay) will be trained by Sarah Steinberg.

The four colts from Liberty Racing 2025 Gold have been allocated as follows:
Henk Grewe will take charge of Grey Diamond (Intello). Aggelos (Isfahan) and Highlander (Sea The Moon) will move to Peter Schiergen’s Asterblüte stable, while Werdagne (Cracksman) will be trained by Sarah Steinberg.

Two 2023 syndicates have been extended.

Listed winner New England will remain in training as a four-year-old following a majority decision by the shareholders. He will continue to race for Liberty Racing 2023 Kings and will once again be based in Peter Schiergen’s Cologne yard.

Liberty Racing 2023 Australia will also remain active, with both Aquaman and Amico set to race on. Aquaman will return to training with Henk Grewe, while Amico will be trained by Sarah Steinberg in the future.

Nadine Siepmann is very pleased with the current structure and is hopeful for this year:

“In addition to the two-year-olds and four-year-olds, we also have seven promising three-year-olds in Kairos, Chiefland, Salitos, Daytona, Abacus, Wings of Glory and Winnetou, and we feel very well positioned for the 2026 season.”
