The magic continues - Zauberkönig superior in the Premio Emanuele Filiberto at Milan

The Derby dream lives on! Successful at Duesseldorf three weeks ago, Zauberkönig competed today in Milan in the traditional Premio Emanuele Filiberto (€44,000) for the Liberty Racing 2023 Kings syndicate, where the son of Teofilo showed himself further improved. The colt made short work of the competition in the 2,000 metres allowance race (formerly Listed level), some of whom were highly rated for the Italian Derby. Sibylle Vogt parked the Peter Schiergen-trained colt out of the gates within touching distance of the leaders, and once the field entered the long final straight, Zauberkönig kicked away with brilliant speed as the distance increased. In the end, the stewards noted "highly superior, 7 lengths" for the colt's second win, who now has the option for both the Italian and German Derby.
