Junko's victory and India's third place in the Allianz Grand Prix of Bavaria also decided this year's owners' championship. Liberty Racing 2021 can no longer be displaced from the top after the last Group I race of the season.
"The first championship for an owner syndicate! Wow!", Liberty Racing announced on Sunday afternoon. "A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible - trainers, jockeys, vets, farriers and many more - our 22 shareholders say thank you."
Responsible for the first owners' championship in the still young history of Liberty Racing, which had four horses at the start in 2023 under "Liberty Racing 2021", were above all the Derby winner Fantastic Moon, the Italian Derby runner-up and fourth in the German Derby, Winning Spirit, and the auction race winner Orofina.
Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten, founder of Liberty Racing: "We are very proud of this first championship for Liberty Racing 2021 and thank everyone who made it possible."
Nadine Siepmann, Co-Founder of Liberty Racing, adds: "We will celebrate this hard-to-win championship in style - what a year and to top it off, Assistent's great second place in the Bavarian Grand Prix. Simply brilliant!" Assistent is co-owned by Liberty Racing 2020, with Eckhard Sauren owning the majority of the Sea The Moon son.
