Argentum narrowly beaten in BBAG auction race for stayers for Liberty Racing 2022.
It could hardly have been any closer. Prepared by Peter Schiergen for Liberty Racing 2022, Argentum ran a very strong race on the day of the 155th running of the German Derby in the €52,000 BBAG Auction Race and was only beaten by a short head after 2,200 metres. The Zoffany colt, bred by Gestüt Röttgen, had to make up a lot of ground in the long Hamburg straight after coming from mid field. He fought with a lot of heart, but the post came one stride too soon. A great performance by the colt, who was given a break after his appearance in the Italian Derby and once again presented himself very well here under Bauyrzhan Murzabayev.
